Job Summary
Design, optimize, and troubleshoot chemical manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability. Analyze process performance to increase throughput, yield, and production capacity while providing technical support for process upsets and equipment issues. Develop and maintain process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, and operating procedures. Support scale-up, new product introductions, and technology transfer initiatives. Lead continuous improvement projects focused on waste reduction, cost savings, and energy efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations through participation in PHA, HAZOP, and MOC processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate deviations and implement corrective actions. Manage capital and process improvement projects from scope development to commissioning. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
- 3-5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or related process manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated experience solving complex process and operational issues
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and EHS teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting continuous process manufacturing operations
- 5-8 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or related process manufacturing environments
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) training
- Experience with chemical process design and optimization
- Knowledge of process control systems, including DCS and PLC platforms
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and corrective action processes
- Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
- Understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow, reaction engineering, and mass transfer principles
- Experience utilizing process simulation, modeling, and data analysis tools
