Job Summary
Lead Chemical Operator responsible for assembling and processing raw materials into batches following batch tickets, evaluating materials with labeling and physical properties, and ensuring safe, efficient production. Tasks include mixing, blending, and compounding ingredients according to formulas; monitoring temperature and pressure; maintaining batch records; communicating changes across the team; maintaining clean work areas; operating a lift truck to move materials; performing basic maintenance to keep processes running; and adhering to OSHA/EPA/ADEM regulations. Strong communication, math, reading, and mechanical reasoning skills are required, along with the ability to work in a team environment and obtain respirator fit testing as needed.
Required Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma equivalency
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in math, reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Able to become respirator fit tested for safe operations
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Understanding and follow OSHA, EPA, ADEM and other regulations
