Job Summary
Level 4 Chemical Operator responsible for safe, efficient production in a Buckman chemical plant. Operate, monitor, and optimize reactors, pumps, mixers, and filtration systems to meet production targets; conduct in-process quality checks and adjust parameters to maintain specifications; maintain accurate process logs and production data; collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and Quality Control to ensure safety, compliance, and product integrity; participate in safety audits and lean-improvement initiatives; mentor and train new operators, support onboarding, and lead by example in safety, professionalism, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4-6 years of job experience
- Strong understanding of process controls, troubleshooting, and quality assurance
- Ability to operate plant equipment and follow detailed technical instructions
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DHS, PSM, FRA etc.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Knowledge of distillation principles and ability to adjust QC results
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment such as GC (Gas Chromatography)
