Job Summary
Control loading, unloading, and storage of miscellaneous liquids by operating loading racks, weighing tank trucks, and gauging shore tanks, railcars, and vessels. Maintain communication with customers, resolve mechanical issues before contacting maintenance, and prepare all related paperwork. Safely move hazardous substances between tanks, barges, ships, trucks, and railcars while adhering to strict environmental and safety standards. Requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, TWIC, and ability to operate manual valves in a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays. This USW position supports IMTT's role as the largest independent bulk liquids storage and logistics provider in North America.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credentials)
- Ability to operate manual valves
- Ability to properly distinguish measurements and increments on a gauging tape and pressure gauges
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in the English language
- Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language
- Ability to make decisions in a variable environment
- Ability to communicate with all other terminal departments
- Knowledge of basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, stand, or stoop, as necessary
- Ability to perform climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling and moderate lifting
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work over water
- Not being afraid of heights
- Ability to wear and use a respirator
- Working knowledge and understanding of all product pipelines, valves, manifolds, and jumpers
