Chemical Loader (2nd shift)

Job Summary
Load and unload barges, tank cars, and tank trucks with various hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals while running a small batch manufacturing operation within the terminal. Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork for all loading, unloading, and manufacturing activities. Contribute to safety and quality meetings and identify maintenance needs to facilitate repairs with supervisors. Perform incidental and minor maintenance on equipment, buildings, and property as required, maintaining general housekeeping of the work area. This role supports Rowell Chemical Corporation's bulk truckload distribution and regional storage operations, focusing on Sodium Hypochlorite and Crystal Hypochlorite production. Full-time Monday through Friday schedule with possible overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-4 Years of chemical manufacturing and/or distribution experience
- 1-5 Years of manufacturing or other heavy industrial experience
- Must be able to read/write/speak English
- Must be proficient in basic mathematics
- Must be able to pass a position based physical fitness test
- Experience with driving OTR trucks either on the road or in a plant environment
- Experience with Safety and/or Quality programs
- Experience handling Chlor-Alkali, flammable/combustible, petroleum or other hazardous materials
- Experience with computers programs including Microsoft Office products
- Requires lifting and handling of heavy objects; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, crouch, reach, and have visual acuity
- Ability to climb ladders and storage tank stairs (approx. 50' in height) for maintenance, inspection, and gauging operations
- Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Able to run & help maintain process equipment
- Able to wear PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and safety work boots) as required
