Chemical Loader (2nd shift)

Job Summary
Load and unload barges, tank cars, and tank trucks with hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals while operating a small batch manufacturing process within the terminal. Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork for all operations, identify maintenance needs, and collaborate with supervisors to facilitate repairs on equipment, buildings, and property. Perform incidental maintenance, maintain work area housekeeping, and contribute to safety and quality meetings. Work Monday through Friday full-time, with possible overtime, in an environment requiring heavy lifting up to 70 lbs and outdoor exposure to adverse weather.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-4 Years of chemical manufacturing and/or distribution experience
- 1-5 Years of manufacturing or other heavy industrial experience
- Must be able to read/write/speak English
- Must be proficient in basic mathematics
- Must be able to pass a position based physical fitness test
- Experience with driving OTR trucks either on the road or in a plant environment
- Experience with Safety and/or Quality programs
- Experience handling Chlor-Alkali, flammable/combustible, petroleum or other hazardous materials
- Experience with computers programs including Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and storage tank stairs (approx. 50' in height) for maintenance, inspection, and gauging operations
- Able to run & help maintain process equipment
- Able to wear PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, respirator and safety work boots) as required
