Job Summary
Conduct chemical and metallurgical sample testing, perform microscopic evaluations, and execute customer and regulatory-delegated inspection processes while maintaining delegated authorities. Follow laboratory plans and procedures set by the Engineering Department to ensure adherence to acceptance test procedures and industry standards. Provide technical training and guidance to other laboratory technicians, deliver relevant data to personnel and customers, and participate in OEM audits, round robin, and correlation testing as necessary. Support continuous improvement by implementing Lean initiatives and maintain familiarity with equipment such as hardness testers and tensile test machines.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in a process control or certification laboratory testing environment
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Engineering
- Familiarity with lab testing equipments, customer requirement and general specification e.g ASTM, AMS etc
- Previous delegated product acceptance authority granted by an Aerospace OEM or regulatory authority
- Knowledge in Metallurgical, thermal spray coating and chemical analysis
