Job Summary
Support startup, commissioning, and operational readiness for complex chemical process systems by developing procedures, collecting process data, and troubleshooting issues with senior engineers. Participate in system walkdowns to verify equipment installation and monitor performance to identify improvement opportunities. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to maintain documentation while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Requires a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering and 0–8 years of experience; DOE Q Security Clearance may be needed. Based in Johnson City, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
- 0–8 years of engineering experience (internships, co-ops, or relevant industrial experience are encouraged)
- Fundamental understanding of chemical engineering principles, including mass and energy balances, process equipment, and chemical operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security Clearance, if required
Desired Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in chemical manufacturing, industrial processing, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, materials processing, or other process industries
- Exposure to process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, or engineering drawings
- Familiarity with process safety concepts and industrial operating practices
- Experience with data analysis or process improvement projects
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or industrial environment
