Job Summary
Design process flows and equipment layouts for new or revised chemical operations, specifying procedures for material preparation and equipment operation. Conduct tests throughout processing stages to control variables like temperature and pressure, then troubleshoot and solve process problems. Lead implementation and long-term ownership of industrial surface finishing operations, including zinc phosphate pretreatment and paint application systems. Instrumental in commissioning new automated coating systems, developing process standards, and supporting Site Acceptance Testing to ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Requires an Associate's degree with 2-4 years of experience, with up to 25% travel likely.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience
- Engineering degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
- May need to stand for long periods of time
- This position is Safety-Sensitive
- Up to 25% travel likely
