Job Summary

Lead development of technical requirements and preliminary design specifications for future disposal and demilitarisation capability, including confined burn, detonation systems, and pollution abatement systems. Conduct engineering trade studies and options analysis to define key performance parameters while providing process engineering expertise across thermal treatment and combustion systems. Support process safety assessments for hazardous facilities, including HAZOP/HAZID risk reviews, and engage with Defence, industry, and regulators on technical matters regarding munitions processing and emissions management. Requires a Chemical Degree-qualified engineer with 8+ years of experience in thermal treatment, industrial waste treatment, and hazardous process facility safety.

Required Qualifications

  • Chemical Degree-qualified engineer
  • Minimum of 8 years' relevant chemical or process engineering experience
  • Experience in Thermal treatment systems combustion systems, industrial waste treatment emissions management and pollution abatement systems
  • Experience with thermal treatment/combustion systems, industrial waste treatment and pollution abatement
  • Experience in hazardous process facility safety, including HAZOP/HAZID risk assessment
  • Knowledge of explosive ordnance and munitions processing/demilitarisation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • current AGSVA NV1

Desired Qualifications

  • INCOSE Systems Engineering certification
