Job Summary
Lead day-to-day troubleshooting and provide chemical engineering guidance for the Polymers Operations, Maintenance, and Technology teams at Washington Works. Recommend and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement in yield, uptime, reliability, and cost while supporting new capital projects. Participate in incident investigations, Process Hazards Analysis, and unit operations involving reactors, pumps, piping, and heat exchangers. Travel less than 10% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Chemical Engineering
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of typical equipment used in a Chemical Plant (i.e. pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, refrigeration machines, etc.)
- Good Oral and Written skills
- Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.
- Two years or more of engineering experience
- Travel requirements are less than 10%
Desired Qualifications
- Five years or more of experience in a chemical manufacturing process
- Experience leading/participating in Process Hazards Analyses
- Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) Certification
