Chemical/Container Preparation Assistant

Chemical/Container Preparation Assistant supports clinical and development laboratories by preparing reagents, performing quality checks of laboratory water, pipette verification, and other support functions. Handles container/kits and quality checks of containers, works with small amounts of chemicals and biohazardous materials. Responsible for prioritizing, scheduling, and delivery routes of containers; washes and sterilizes laboratory glassware and equipment contaminated with biological waste; provides pick-up/return of processed items to laboratories using carts to move glassware throughout the building and campus; decontaminates biological waste for the department. On-the-job training provided; works in all areas and other assignments as defined by the Laboratory Supervisor. Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic
