Job Summary
Chief of Staff at the Walker Art Center serving as strategic partner to the Executive Director, overseeing institutional strategic planning, governance, and cross-department coordination. Leads capital building project readiness, coordinates with Senior Leadership Team, supervises the Manager of Board Relations and Director’s Office Administrator, and supports external partnerships with architects and consultants. Focus areas include capital project leadership, organizational transformation, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, and facilitating high-level decision-making and planning processes for a major cultural institution.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience
- experience in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and complex project management
- experience supporting or leading capital projects, major institutional initiatives, or large-scale organizational change
- ability to design and manage complex, multi-year projects with multiple stakeholders
- experience working with external partners such as architects, consultants, or project teams
- experience with or supporting a Board of Trustees or comparable governing body
- strong leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- excellent written and verbal communication skills for high-level presentations and materials
- discretion, judgment, and professionalism in handling sensitive information
- strategic thinking with rigorous execution
- commitment to equity, inclusion, and access
Additional Requirements
- Eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
