Job Summary
Chef I responsible for operation and maintenance of all food service equipment, ensuring high sanitation and appearance standards, developing and training staff, managing inventory and food costs, implementing recycling programs, and contributing to menu development and quality assurance. The role involves supervising a team, coordinating with the camp’s food service department, and adhering to Young Life’s policies and sanitation standards. Location is Williams, AZ; full-time with compensation in the stated monthly range plus COLA housing stipend when applicable.
Required Qualifications
- One year of college completed and/or one year professional culinary training or apprenticeship through an accredited school
- At least 3 years work experience in the food service industry
- Clear, professional communication skills – both verbal and written
- Must perform calculations to determine proportions and measurements
- May be required to lift materials weighing 60 pounds waist high to stock shelves
- Train staff according to set methods and use manuals developed by the Young Life Camping department
