Job Summary
Hands-on Chef role at Calvert’s Restaurant & 1897 Coffee Shop in the Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre (Hawes, Yorkshire Dales). You’ll prep and plate dishes to a high standard, assist in developing standard recipes and costings, monitor HACCP and allergens compliance, maintain sanitation and stock levels, and collaborate with management to respond to local trends and create new menu items using locally sourced produce. The role involves working 5 days per week with every other weekend off, in a busy modern kitchen with the latest equipment, and offers opportunities for progression within Saputo Dairy UK.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- At least two years’ experience in a similar environment
- Attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Professionalism, passion, and care
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Ability to manage conflict and deliver under pressure
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Contribute to menu development and costings
- Comply with HACCP and allergen procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and portion control
