Job Summary
Experienced Chef de Partie needed in Newcastle University's in-house catering team; responsible for preparing and producing food in compliance with HACCP, using traditional cooking methods or cook-chill, and ensuring high quality for university customers. Duties include supporting menu planning, ordering, controlling costs and wastage, coordinating and training catering staff, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and delivering service across multiple campus locations. Must hold Level 2 Food Safety for Caterers and NVQ Level 1/2 in Food Production, with adaptability to shift patterns (typically 5 out of 7 days) and occasional customer-facing service.
Required Qualifications
- Food Safety for Caterers Level 2 Certificate
- City & Guilds 706/1/2 NVQ Level 1/2 in Food Production
- Experience in a large scale catering operation
- Knowledge of HACCP, food hygiene regulations and health and safety
