Job Summary
Chef de Partie with a passion for precise execution and leadership in a high-end kitchen. Plan and oversee food preparation and cooking activities, lead service periods for à la carte, execute line cooking with the kitchen brigade, maintain station setup, quality, timing, and presentation, supervise kitchen operations, ensure proper handling and rotation of food, collaborate on menu development and cost control, coordinate prep across kitchen sections, work closely with front-of-house for a seamless guest experience, maintain cleanliness and food safety, and lead by example in a dynamic team environment. Formal culinary training or significant management experience required; Food Handlers Certificate and valid work permit required. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays; experience in Italian or upscale environments is an asset. Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; in-person remote option. Pay Type: Hourly.
Required Qualifications
- Formal culinary training (culinary or hospitality college programs or equivalent) OR significant management experience in similar restaurant environment
- 2-5 years in a senior cook or supervisor role
- Food Handlers Certificate
- Valid work permit required
- Experience in an Italian restaurant or similar upscale environment is an asset
