Job Summary
Prepare and finish foods on all kitchen stations while supervising staff and guiding culinary employees on food preparation and quality standards. Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and equipment operation in accordance with Health Department regulations, properly label and date products, and manage accurate inventories to prevent shortages. Assist the Chef in production execution and notify management of restocking needs or task delays. Requires 3–5 years of culinary experience in a high-volume, luxury hotel or scratch-cooking environment with extensive knife skills and the ability to lead a team under pressure. Must hold a Food Service Manager health card and possess the physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and operate heavy machinery.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be able to communicate in English
- Candidates must be able to read and follow recipes
- Candidates must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations
- 3 – 5 years culinary experience in a similar role
- Candidate must exhibit extensive sanitation and culinary knowledge
- Candidate must exhibit accurate knife skills
- Candidate must exhibit the ability to lead and motivate staff
- Requires the ability to work organized and within a team environment
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Candidate must be a logical thinker
- Candidate must remain calm and resolve problems using a good judgement
- Must possess the ability to prioritize, organize and follow through in order to meet deadlines
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required for this position at all times
- High volume experience required
- Culinary training or degree is preferred, but not required
- Highschool diploma or G.E.D required
- Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Requires a Food Service Manager health card
- Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Must have the ability to push/pull up to 400 lbs. at a time
- Must have the ability to handle heavy machinery such as pallet jacks, tuggers, etc.
