Job Summary
Independently manage end-to-end delivery of data management services for single or multi-service projects, ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, leading direct negotiations on timelines, finances, and resources while maintaining strong relationships. Provide leadership and senior support to Data Team Leads on multiple large global studies, manage project planning, execution, and close-out, and independently oversee financial tracking, revenue recognition, and invoicing. Create and approve Data Management Plans, implement proactive quality management strategies, and act as the escalation point for unresolved data issues. Train junior staff, drive process improvements, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert in specific clinical data management tasks or technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences, clinical sciences, biological sciences, or mathematics, or in a related field
- 7 years of direct experience in data management, including 5 years or more as a Clinical Data Management (CDM) project lead
- Proven experience in managing the implementation of multiple global trials throughout the data management lifecycle (i.e., large-scale trials involving at least 1,000 patients)
- Proven aptitude in data management and in-depth knowledge of the data management process (e.g., therapeutic area, in-depth knowledge of data management processes, matching of EIG, matching of external data vendors, local laboratory data management, and/or new technologies)
- Proven experience and demonstrated competency in independently managing complex negotiations with clients and bid defense meetings
- Knowledge of operational procedures and work instructions and the ability to apply them in practice
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCPs) and relevant regulatory guidelines
- In-depth understanding of the drug development clinical process
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients
- Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and/or physiology
