Job Summary
Data Warehouse leadership role as Chef d'équipe, développement SQL Server: lead a team of data engineers and SQL developers to design, build, and operate modern data pipelines and analytics platforms on Azure. Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and engineering standards for data pipelines, lakehouse platforms, and data quality. Mentor team members, drive architectural decisions, optimize Spark workloads and Synapse/Azure SQL performance, and improve platform observability and cost efficiency. The role involves hands-on contribution to SQL Server/Azure-based data platforms (Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Data Lake Gen2, Delta Lake, Microsoft Fabric) and requires collaboration across hybrid (office and remote) delivery at offices in Montréal, Austin and Nicosia.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of data development experience
- 2+ years of technical leadership or mentoring teams
- 2+ years practical Azure Cloud experience (Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Data Lake Storage Gen2, Delta Lake)
- Practical experience with PySpark, lakehouse/Delta Lake architectures, large-scale data ingestion pipelines
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL and relational database design
- Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines
- Problem-solving skills for data pipelines and database performance
- Experience in hybrid Azure and on-premises SQL Server environments
