Job Summary
Lead architecture and delivery of ultra-low latency, multi-threaded C++ feed handlers for equities, options, commodities, and FX markets. Drive technical vision, system reliability, and scalability while integrating custom FPGA hardware acceleration. Champion modern engineering practices, including CLI workflows, design patterns, and automated profiling to elevate team productivity. Enforce a test-first culture by ensuring robust unit tests for all new features and refactored code. Facilitate Agile ceremonies, define epics, manage sprint planning, and enforce engineering standards and code review processes. Act as the primary bridge between product stakeholders and engineering to align technical solutions with business needs. Mentor engineers on technical maturity and career progression while participating in hiring to attract top talent.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of multithreaded C++ software development
- deep understanding of concurrent programming
- deep understanding of memory management
- deep understanding of low-latency design
- 2+ years in a technical leadership or engineering lead role
- guiding teams through the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- hands-on experience with modern engineering tools
- experience with CLI tools
- experience with automation frameworks
- track record of applying software design patterns
- track record of applying object-oriented architecture
- robust unit tests for all new features and refactored code
- excellent mastery of Linux operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, SUSE)
- mastery of Linux development and debugging tools
- French language (spoken and written)
- English language (spoken and written)
- hybrid work model with presence in the Montreal office
