Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality food while supervising and training kitchen staff and agency support. Ensure excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer satisfaction, and maintain up-to-date allergen information for the menu. Support the F&B Manager to deliver a profitable, efficient service by managing stock control, ordering, kitchen administration, and EPOS systems within budget. Contribute to menu development and service improvements, adhering to due diligence procedures set out in Alert 65. Work primarily Wednesday to Sunday at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, with occasional rotation to other BMT sites as required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a similar environment
- Proven ability to prepare, cook and serve food to a high standard
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and allergen management
- Responsible for due diligence procedure set out in Alert 65
- Experience of supervising or supporting teams
- Ability to work within budgets
- A passion for delivering excellent visitor experience
- Must be able to work Wednesday to Sunday
- Must be available for other BMT sites from time to time
- Must complete all parts of the online application form in full
