Job Summary
Instruct safe, effective and fun cheer classes under the supervision of the Sports Director or Branch Director; supervise and guide participants through cheer instruction; maintain a safe, clean environment; report equipment issues and follow emergency procedures; start and end classes on time and arrange substitutes as needed; select appropriate music and attire; greet participants and communicate schedules with parents; attend staff meetings and events; adhere to the YMCA mission and core values; must have knowledge of the cheer/dance program, CPR/AED trained within 1 month of hire, and possess strong interpersonal skills to manage participants and diffuse situations.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of dance/cheer program
- Current certifications and level of experience may be reflected in pay scale
- CPR/AED trained within 1 month of hire
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and alignment with YMCA mission
- Physical requirements (lifting 25lbs etc)
