Job Summary
Chassis Mechanic role performing mechanical repairs and inspections in a shop and warehouse environment. Responsible for chassis repairs including brake work, welding (MIG/ARC), cutting with torch, container chassis repairs, tire changes, parts inventory management, and adherence to Port City Repair guidelines and safety rules. Must be able to work outdoors, meet FMCSA requirements, and communicate with management about space, backlog, and inventory issues. Preferred bilingual (English/Spanish) with ability to work independently, read/write, review plans, and work in a fast-paced team.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in chassis mechanics and related repair methods
- Experience with MIG and/or ARC welding
- Knowledge of FMCSA requirements and standards
- Knowledge of AAR, IICL and DOT rules and criteria
- Driver’s license standards compliance
- High School Diploma or higher
- Ability to read and write; communicate effectively; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
