Chassis Inspection Lead Engineer

Job Summary
Lead Engineering Inspection audits engineering documentation including SOR, DFMEA, Spec Book, ECR, and DVP plans across all product development phases. Inspect and analyze test reports to ensure acceptance criteria and deviations are well documented, then drive Engineering Sign Off by completing risk assessments and releasing ESOM. Assist investigations for complex field issues, analyze builds, and collaborate with dealers to resolve problems while capturing learnings for future models. Govern the Learning Database to apply continuous improvements across model development and build phases. This role requires a data-driven approach to high-pressure situations with independent expert capability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering
- 7+ years experience in automotive industry product development (CHASSIS)
- Independent expert: Can do tasks with minimum supervision
- Capability to understand, based on evidence, if: 1.issue investigations are complete, 2.issues are contained and customers are protected
- Knowledge to integrate different Vehicle parts to meet the design standards and specifications

- Demonstrate a high degree of resilience and ability to deal with high pressure situations using a data driven approach
- Communications: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels in business
- User level knowledge of CAD Software for part and interface analysis (not design)
- Basic knowledge of the SOR, FMEA, Spec Book, Design Validation, Engineering Change processes
- User level knowledge of Teamcenter
- Lead Engineer works in a specific Engineering Inspection funtion all across company's portfolio and phases of product development
- Inspect and audit engineering documentations such as SOR, SPB, DVP, DFMEA and ECR, including the application of the learning database
- Assist Investigations, Assist dealers ans drive the resolution for complex field issues, analyse in the builds
- Audit Engineering Documentation (SOR, DFMEA, Spec Book, ECR and DVP plan)
- Audit Test Reports (DVPRs), making sure acceptance criteria (and deviation, if any) regarding Specifications are well documented
- Audit PHC (Program Health Check) on Engineering Inspection deliverables
- Audit complex Engineering issues solution process during all program lifecycle
- Capture Learnings across model development and build phases to be applied cross model (continuous improvement) - Learning Database governance
- Audit Engineering Sign Off (Drive Engineering to complete all risk assessment and release ESOM)
Desired Qualifications
- Design Release experience for automotive components/systems/subsystems (Feasibility and Launch experience are desired)
- Advanced knowledge of the SOR, FMEA, Spec Book, Design Validation, Engineering Change processes
- User level knowledge of Atalassian Jira desired
