Job Summary
Associate on the Card Portfolio Risk Strategy team will directly engage and influence portfolio risk strategies within the newly created first-line credit function of the Card Credit Decisioning Unit. You will evaluate the Credit Box with leadership, support product GMs, remediate risks, identify trends, and develop risk-management strategies in partnership with the Credit Risk second line. Responsibilities include evaluating expansion opportunities, setting up reviews to ensure adherence to credit assumptions, defining variables for new credit models, collaborating with the modeling team, developing metrics to track performance, maintaining a strong regulatory and controls environment, and partnering across stakeholders (risk, underwriting, legal, finance) to balance growth and risk. Requires analytical curiosity, experience with complex data, and a detail-oriented mindset.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required
- 2+ years of relevant experience in direct to consumer lending, originations, and/or retail credit experience at a complex large-scale financial services business
- Ability to evaluate and manage credit risk effectively; Exceptional quantitative and qualitative finance and analytical skills
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and execution skills; insight and ability to proactively identify opportunities to innovate and improve the business
- Proven experience in collaborating across teams and lines of business within large organizations
- Experience with executive-level presentation materials and briefings
- A high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
