Job Summary
Oversee end-to-end freight forwarding operations (import/export, air, and ocean shipments) to ensure timely and accurate delivery for clients. Lead and develop a team of operations specialists with coaching and performance feedback to maintain high service standards. Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, agents, and international partners to resolve shipment exceptions and ensure seamless supply chain execution. Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and customer satisfaction, implementing corrective actions as needed. Ensure full compliance with US Customs regulations, IATA standards, and relevant international trade laws across all activities. Drive continuous process improvements to increase operational efficiency, reduce transit times, and lower costs. Serve as a primary point of escalation for client inquiries and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the Charlotte market.
Required Qualifications
- Experience leading a freight forwarding operations team
- Strong knowledge of import/export processes, air and ocean shipments
- Proven ability to coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, agents and international partners
- track record of improving KPIs (on-time delivery, cost per shipment, customer satisfaction)
- Compliance with US Customs regulations, IATA standards, and international trade laws
- Ability to coach and develop a team, provide performance feedback and workflow guidance
- Strong client relationship management in the Charlotte market
