Job Summary
Charge Nurse leadership role ensuring unit operations, staffing and resource management, and mentorship of nursing staff. Leads in staff scheduling, preceptor assignments, performance evaluations, and adherence to regulatory standards. Drives quality improvement initiatives, supports Magnet designation efforts, and represents nursing staff in organizational committees and service-excellence initiatives. Provides clinical leadership, education, and guidance to promote patient-centered care and a collaborative work environment across units within UofL Health.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License (or compact license)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- ACLS Certification (Preferred unless mandatory in unit)
- National Nursing Certification in Specialty (Preferred)
- 1 year frontline patient care experience (Required)
- 2 years frontline patient care experience (Preferred)
