Job Summary
Coordinate the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle and manage operational issues during the 7 pm to 7 am night shift. Provide clinical care as census demands, communicate patient care and departmental concerns to leadership, and serve as a resource for staff guidance. Maintain RN licensure, BCLS, and ACLS/PALS certifications, while obtaining specialty certifications such as Advanced Fetal Monitoring or PEARS within specified timelines. This full-time role at Piedmont Augusta Hospital supports the MedSurg, OrthoSpine, and related units with a sign-on bonus available.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a nursing program
- 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- Advanced certification in field of specialty
- ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery)
- PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology)
- NRP by the end of orientation period (Womens Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery)
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery)
- PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital)
- ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department)
- ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services)
- Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification
