Job Summary
Charge Nurse for a Med-Surg unit (Ortho/Neurosurgery/General Surgery) responsible for supervising nursing staff, assisting with staffing patterns and problem solving across shifts. Works under coordination with Nursing Unit Coordinator and Hospital Supervisor; ensures delivery of patient care using the nursing process, provides input into staff evaluations and departmental goals, leads in-service education, coordinates multi-disciplinary conferences, and supports quality assurance activities. Requires RN license, BLS, and 3 years RN experience (1 year in clinical specialty); preferred BSN; hospital setting in Oregon City, OR. Core duties include staff supervision, interviewing for posted positions, budget trend analysis, emergency department leadership during crises, and ongoing education for staff and patients/families.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience, one year in clinical specialty.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
- Basic Life Support
