Charge RN - Med-Surg (Ortho/Neurosurgery/General Surgery) - KSMC 2N / 24 Hr /Nights

Facilitate and assist with all levels of nursing care for patients within one Med-Surg unit during a single shift, assuming partial staff nurse responsibilities as needed. Supervise nursing personnel by assisting in the interviewing process for applicants, monitoring staff performance, and documenting issues for the Coordinator. Coordinate staff meetings, develop staffing patterns, and communicate systems problems or risk situations to leadership. Actively participate in client care by assessing patient needs, implementing nursing care, evaluating effectiveness, and leading multi-disciplinary conferences and discharge planning. Serve as an educator by developing in-service programs, orienting new staff, and teaching patients and families. Identify and solve intrashift and intershift problems while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to organizational policies.
