Job Summary
Supervise nursing personnel on the Med-Surg unit, including interviewing applicants, monitoring staff performance, and coordinating shift handovers. Facilitate client care by assessing patient needs, implementing nursing protocols, and leading multi-disciplinary conferences. Monitor staffing patterns, manage emergency situations, and ensure supply availability while participating in quality assurance and trend analysis. Act as an educator for staff and patients, developing in-service programs and clinical orientations. Support organizational goals through departmental committees, research programs, and interdepartmental communications. Work nights in a 30-hour rotation; requires three years of RN experience, Oregon licensure, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience
- one year in clinical specialty
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- High school diploma or GED
- Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
- Basic Life Support
- Experience in acute care or skilled nursing
- utilizing the nursing process

Desired Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing
- Two (2) years of recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting
- Experience with insulin drips
- Med/Surg Certification
- Demonstrated clinical judgment with a variety of chronic illness and diseases
