Job Summary
Act as a resource nurse for the Labor and Delivery department, providing leadership to staff in patient care areas and coordinating care on designated shifts. Direct patient care while determining staffing fluctuations, responding to departmental concerns, addressing immediate staff issues, and coordinating patient flow. Oversee employees while performing the same or directly related work as those led. Work weekends from 7pm to 7am as part of a part-time 24-hour weekly schedule. This entry-level leadership role supports a team managing eight suites, two triage bays, two operating rooms, and two recovery bays, with an average of 1,000 births annually.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved nursing program
- Holding a minimum of an ASN
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license
- BLS for Healthcare Providers
- NRP certification (obtained within 6 months of hire)
- ACLS certification (obtained within 6 months of hire)
- S.T.A.B.L.E certification (obtained within 12 months of hire)
- Low Risk Neonatal Nursing RNC-LRN (National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties) (obtained within 12 months of hire)
- One year of nursing experience
- One year of experience in area of specialty preferred
- Professional/Specialty certification as per unit/department standards
- Weekend Only Work (WOW)
- Nights (7pm-7am)
- Drug-free workplace
- Post offer, pre-employment drug testing
