Job Summary
Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients while advocating for staff to reach their full potential. Administer, oversee, and document medication administration as ordered by healthcare practitioners. Assess patient physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral, developmental, and spiritual needs to implement appropriate interventions and evaluate outcomes. Prepare patients for discharge and coordinate post-discharge needs. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in communication and care delivery. Document care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process in accordance with FHS standards. Adhere to department and hospital policies regarding safety, risk management, and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- One to two years Med/Surg experience with completion of Mother/Baby Education program
- New graduate with completion of senior practicum in L&D, Mother/Baby unit or nursery
- Registered Nurse: WA
- Basic Life Support - CPR
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors Of Science Nursing
- One year of related work experience in an acute care setting
- Two years of experience in the clinical specialty within the last three years
- previous charge nurse experience
- Previous Mother-Baby experience
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring
