Job Summary
Charge RN oversees shift operations in the Emergency Department, assigns staff as acuity and census change, coordinates meal/break times, delegates within scope of practice, mentors new staff, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow and throughput, conducts rounds to obtain patient/family feedback, communicates unit issues to leadership, maintains confidentiality, and ensures timely bed placement and patient flow in coordination with Clinical House Supervisor and ACC; requires RN licensure in Kentucky and either a Bachelor's or Associate degree in nursing, plus BLS (and unit-specific certifications as required).
Required Qualifications
- One year of nursing experience
- Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
- Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university
- If not already certified, obtain BLS within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; BLS/ACLS/PALS and/or other designated unit specific certifications as required
