Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatments for patients in the adult acute care hematology/oncology unit. Serve as the lead RN, supervising staff, delegating care to auxiliary personnel, and coaching new hires. Consult with medical staff regarding patient care, report issues, and educate patients and families on conditions and medication schedules. Maintain accurate patient records and assist leadership in scheduling staff with appropriate skill mixes. This role functions as a clinical resource to the team and may require call subject to department discretion.
Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed as RN for at least one (1) year
- Valid RN license
- Knowledge of staff nursing care procedures and protocols
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of computer systems, tools and programs
- Ability to work in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of RN experience in specified area preferred
- BSN preferred
