Job Summary
Charge RN provides supervision of nursing and support staff on the assigned shift in a correctional setting, and delivers direct and indirect nursing care to patients. Reports to the Director of Nursing and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to identify and respond to a wide range of physical and mental health needs. Must hold Maryland RN license with CPR/BLS certification; PPD documentation required; BSN preferred but not required. Prior nursing care experience with autonomy and supervisory experience preferred, with correctional-environment exposure preferred. Security clearance (drug screen and background check) is required. Shift available: evenings (part-time). Located at Metropolitan Transition Center, Baltimore, MD 21202.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland; BSN preferred but not required
- Must show/obtain current PPD documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in CPR/BLS
- Prior experience providing nursing care and working with a high degree of autonomy required
- Prior experience in supervising nursing staff preferred
- Experience working in a correctional environment preferred
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
- Available shift: part time, evenings
