Charge Registered Nurse RN - Oncology

Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during shifts, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs to develop and distribute assignments, ensuring population-appropriate care is delivered for the 22-bed oncology unit. Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues affecting desired outcomes, while responding to complaints through established channels. Manage input for hiring, training, directing, and development of staff. Requires current RN licensure in Alabama, BLS certification within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience. Full-time nights shifts (7pm–7am) are available at UAB St. Vincent's East.
