Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing, assign, direct, and monitor nursing and support staff while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care. Assess daily patient care needs, develop care assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care to identify issues affecting outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care through established channels and contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff. Provide input for hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluating of staff. Manage a 22-bed oncology unit serving patients with cancer diagnoses or histories, alongside medical-surgical patients ranging from pneumonia to CHF.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- ACLS and PALS certification (required in some units)
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
