Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs to develop and distribute assignments, ensuring population-appropriate care is delivered. Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify issues affecting desired outcomes. Respond to patient care complaints and manage them through established channels. Provide input for hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluating of staff. This 22-bed oncology unit also serves medical-surgical patients with conditions ranging from pneumonia to CHF, handling procedures such as biopsies and cholecystectomies.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- ACLS and PALS certification
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
