Charge Registered Nurse RN - Oncology

Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute patient care assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care to identify issues affecting desired outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care and manage them through established channels. Provide input for hiring, training, directing, and evaluating of staff. 5 East, Oncology is a 22-bed unit specializing in cancer care that also manages medical-surgical patients with conditions ranging from pneumonia to CHF. Common surgical procedures on the unit include biopsies, EGDs, lithotripsy, and cholecystectomies.
