Job Summary
Lead the hemodialysis team by providing day-to-day direction to direct patient care staff, approving schedule changes, and participating in staffing and hiring decisions. Assess daily patient needs, distribute care assignments, and assume primary responsibility during emergencies while monitoring treatments and administering medications per physician orders. Supervise all documentation, ensure compliance with facility and regulatory policies, and operate dialysis equipment safely. Collaborate with the clinical team to develop care plans, conduct monthly quality assurance meetings, and train new staff. Travel between facilities as required to maintain shift operations and support patient education on End Stage Renal Disease.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience and an additional 3 months of clinical experience in dialysis
- RN charge nurses assuming responsibility for nursing and patient services in the absence of the Clinical Manager must have one-year clinical experience and six months dialysis experience
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
- Must meet appropriate state requirements (if any)
- Employees are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
- The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community
- Travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings may be required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
