Job Summary
Charge Nurse (RN) leads the hemodialysis nursing team in chronic hemodialysis care, directing direct patient care staff, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring safe, compliant delivery of care per facility policies and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include supervising staff performance and scheduling, organizing patient care plans, participating in care-plan meetings, ensuring dialysis equipment and procedures meet safety standards, training and orienting staff, overseeing documentation, and facilitating communication with the Clinical Manager and other healthcare professionals. Requires RN licensure, state licensure, and dialysis experience; supervision/management experience is preferred. Strong communication, patient education, and adherence to OSHA and quality-assurance practices are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience and an additional 3 months of clinical experience in dialysis
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
