Job Summary
Lead the hemodialysis team by providing day-to-day direction to direct patient care staff, approving schedule changes, and conducting monthly staffing and performance evaluations. Assess patient needs, administer medications, and supervise all dialysis treatments while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and facility policies. Collaborate with physicians to adjust care plans, admit new patients, and educate families on End Stage Renal Disease and therapy. Operate emergency equipment, perform technical training verifications, and participate in quality assurance and in-services. Assume primary responsibility during emergencies and coordinate relief charge duties with Staff RNs. Travel between assigned facilities and attend regional meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience
- Additional 3 months of clinical experience in dialysis
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
- Good communication skills - verbal and written
- Must meet appropriate state requirements (if any)
- Must be able to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
- Must be available for travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community
- Must be available for travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings
