Job Summary
Lead the hemodialysis team by providing day-to-day direction and supervision to direct patient care staff, approving schedule changes, and ensuring compliance with facility procedures and state/federal regulations. Assess daily patient needs, distribute care assignments, administer medications, and respond to emergency situations while monitoring treatments and communicating with physicians. Train and orient new staff, participate in patient care plan meetings, and supervise all documentation of patient information. Operate dialysis equipment safely, maintain a clean working environment through OSHA compliance, and coordinate with the Clinical Manager on staffing and performance evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience
- Additional 3 months of clinical experience in dialysis
- RN charge nurses assuming responsibility for nursing and patient services in the absence of the Clinical Manager must have one-year clinical experience
- Six months dialysis experience
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
- Must meet appropriate state requirements (if any)
- Employees are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
