Job Summary
Charge Registered Nurse - RN leads the hemodialysis team, providing day-to-day guidance and supervision to direct patient care staff; communicates with physicians and the healthcare team to interpret and adjust patient care plans; ensures safe, effective delivery of dialysis care in accordance with facility procedures and regulatory guidelines; coordinates with the Clinical Manager on staffing, performance, and disciplinary actions; trains staff, monitors adherence to policies, and participates in quality assurance and safety programs while overseeing patient care assignments, emergency response, and education for patients and families. The role requires RN licensure, nephrology/dialysis experience, supervisory skills, and the ability to operate dialysis equipment and participate in staff development and compliance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience and an additional 3 months of clinical experience in dialysis
- RN charge nurses assuming responsibility for nursing and patient services in the absence of the Clinical Manager must have one-year clinical experience and six months dialysis experience
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
