Job Summary
Lead the hemodialysis team by providing day-to-day direction and supervision to direct patient care staff, approving schedule changes, and managing hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions. Assess daily patient needs, distribute care assignments, administer medications, and monitor treatments while communicating with physicians to adjust care plans. Ensure compliance with facility procedures, state, and federal regulations, and supervise all documentation and equipment use during dialysis. Assume primary responsibility in emergencies and train staff on dialysis techniques and safety protocols. Collaborate with the Clinical Manager on monthly staff meetings and quality assurance initiatives to improve care delivery and operations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience and an additional 3 months of clinical experience in dialysis
- RN charge nurses assuming responsibility for nursing and patient services in the absence of the Clinical Manager must have one-year clinical experience and six months dialysis experience
- Must meet appropriate state requirements (if any)
- Employees are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
- The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations within the community
- Travel to regional, Business Unit and Corporate meetings may be required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Supervisory or management experience preferred
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
- Good communication skills - verbal and written
