Job Summary
Lead the hemodialysis team by providing day-to-day direction and supervision to direct patient care staff, including informal and formal feedback for annual evaluations. Assess daily patient needs, distribute care assignments, and respond to treatments while communicating concerns to the rounding physician. Supervise all patient care activity, administer medications per orders, and ensure compliance with facility procedures, state, and federal regulations. Operate dialysis and emergency equipment safely, perform technical training verifications, and participate in monthly quality assurance and staff meetings. Coordinate with the Clinical Manager on staffing, scheduling, and disciplinary actions to maintain shift operations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (R.N.)
- Current appropriate state licensure
- Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience and an additional 3 months of clinical experience in dialysis
- RN charge nurses assuming responsibility for nursing and patient services in the absence of the Clinical Manager must have one-year clinical experience and six months dialysis experience
- Successfully complete a training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis
- Good communication skills - verbal and written
- Must meet appropriate state requirements (if any)
- Employees are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment
