Charge Registered Nurse / RN ER

Manage the overall shift and monitor care quality for your designated area under the Nurse Manager's direction. Serve as a liaison to the Nurse Manager and House Supervisor regarding major unit occurrences and needs. Provide first-level supervision by assigning patients, assuming patient loads, assisting with admissions and procedures, and solving patient care issues. Mentor new associates and academic partners while participating in the annual performance review process. Assess patient and family needs, prioritize goals, evaluate care delivery, and revise plans to meet biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational requirements. Delegate care appropriately to optimize outcomes while adhering to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act. This night shift role is full-time at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kansas.
