Job Summary
Charge Nurse role providing and supervising nursing care in the unit. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and directing nursing functions; assigning tasks to staff based on skill levels; ensuring patient safety and high standards of care; accurately implementing physicians' orders; enforcing infection-control policies; maintaining confidentiality; collaborating with nursing, medical, and support staff; obtaining and documenting comprehensive nursing histories; conducting basic patient assessments; notifying physicians of changes in condition; developing care plans before end of shift; and promoting a professional, growth‐oriented environment while maintaining appropriate professional communications and rapport with patients, families, and the health-care team.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current RN/ LPN license
- Ability to understand, remember and carry out verbal or written instructions in English
- Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
- Ability to be flexible and positive with intermittent interruptions
